I am really thankful we were able to have the discussion we did and we're seeing companies place their money where their mouth is. The weekend was tough on Mut 21 coins my mental health and perspective on what is gonna get done and that probably reached into my comments, and that can still change as the days come and go. But today seeing protests get even bigger and more calm than before and visiting companies actually do shit, it gets me a bit more optimistic. I expect we see real change. Thank you for a discussion that in least gave me a fresh perspective. I don't need companies saying something. In fact I'm fed up with companies saying things. Make your merchandise. Make it good. Then shut up and allow actual men and women speak. Nobody needs corporations to speak for them.
Because it is absurd bullshit meant to placate dumb white people that can easily be vulnerable to this type of marketing strategy. This marketing tactic where businesses express commitments to fight injustice while avoiding specifics regarding what precisely is wrong, what needs to change, and exactly what they're going to do about it. Every single fucking firm does this and it is empty rhetoric. They do not offer one fuck. This is the same EA that censored the word"Kaepernick" out of a song in multiple games now in an effort to avoid offending their fragile white player base. So no I'm not going to be happy that a company like EA does nothing and anticipates compliments for doing nothing. People catching that and calling out it isn't nihilism. It is realism. What does stating something achieve? Why should anybody be pleased about E-fucking-A posing the delay of a match reveal as if it's somehow related to the current unrest?
Do not give companies brownie points for doing the simplest thing. This is corporate slacktivism, all noise no action. Donations, shouting out to sources people are able to use or donate to themselves, doing something with any substance more than stating"shouts out to oppressed minorities, we will wait to promote to you until you've got some focus to spare?" Or, the best case situation, just announcing a delay without linking it into something wholly irrelevant to them except for its effects in their reveal. It is not, till they wish to feign reevaluate their marketing plan is an act of solidarity. Solidarity simply means that they agree with their origin, and there's nothing that indicate they do not. Yes, there is, the simple fact they have done nothing to benefit anybody but themselves. They just delay it without asserting that delaying a advertisement is somehow"in solidarity" with current protests. Don't be a fool that thinks there's any weight whatsoever to some corporate entity"taking a side" by delaying marketing stuff. I don't believe this is a bad thing or a good thing. It is an entirely pointless, neutral item and EA deserves no credit for this.
That's a excellent point, I hadn't considered it like that. I get you wish to support the reason but what does that have to do with football? The Space Jam Facebook page posted something similar. It brings attention to the issue and keeps it on the matter instead of allowing a distraction from it via their match. And the whole response to buy Madden nfl 21 coins it from outside the league when he had been performing which are directly associated with both the matter and soccer. NFL players are protesting police brutality throughout games for years now. Taking into consideration the game includes the likeness of many of these characters it isn't surprising that EA may do this.
